Ibaco is a leading ice cream and frozen dessert pioneer in South India. They have a huge trend of customers devouring their delicacies. But the brand's website needed a complete makeover so as to make more user friendly and increase the productivity of the online purchase made directly via their own portal. So an usability testing and a heuristic evaluation has been conducted in order to report the outcomes.

The goal of this project is to  review the effectiveness of the Ibaco's website. And understand the major pain points of the users in the flow of the website.

Background

Like the famous saying goes Rome wasn't built in a day - Ibaco's story of becoming the top brand for ice cream manufacturing and retail was laid brick by brick of efforts and mere passion to deliver only the best quality produce for its customers. Not just that Ibaco has been in the leading market all over south india for more than a decade right from its start till now. It has groomed itself as a brand that first pops into anyones mind when you crave some cold treat. From enjoying the highest of business peaks to the worst of downfall and again raising like a phoenix, Ibaco has seen it all over the period of time. The brand today stands tall like a giant ready to conquer the world with every scoop of ice cream that tells a story. And to support a brand that has given it all to deliver the best deserves the same. So my motivation lies in the same to understand the brand's website and be able to deliver a report for its enhancement by conducting a heuristic evaluation and performing an usability testing via few tasks to support my hypothesis.

Problem statement

The flow of the website feels broken in several parts of the user journey. The website resembles more like an information gallery than an intuitive online platform.

Hypothesis

Users have difficulties in creating their own sundae.

Objectives
  • Understand users current engagement/Pain points with the "Our Products"feature in the website

  • Evaluate the user's performance while performing a series of task

  • Bring recommendations on how to make this website more effective for the users.
